The Phoenix Voices – Yeovil
The Phoenix Voices choir were founded in 2014 by local choirmaster Kris Emmett and in 2016 added an orchestra and a band.
This year, using choral singing as a therapeutic intervention they will be focusing their community work on mental health, combating social isolation in the elderly and those living with mental ill-health, including stigma, both here and in sheltered accommodation in Yeovil and beyond.
All adults are welcome to join without audition – no need to be able to read music, just turn up and discover what can be unlocked!
The choir meets every Tuesday evening from 7:30-9pm at Holy Trinity Church and Community Centre on Lysander Road.
The first rehearsal is free, then our subs for members are £6 per week thereafter or £2.50 for those on income support, low income or other benefits. Each rehearsal lasts 90 minutes.
