Spark iT aims to provide support to anyone in Somerset who wants to access the internet, but can’t currently get online. They do this by:
– Operating and supporting Digital Cafes and other drop-in services in key towns across the county. Click here to find a service near you.
– Accepting referrals from health professionals and charities and providing a one-to-one home and community visiting service. Professionals can click here to make a referral for skills support or our device loan scheme.
– Partnering with community organisations and businesses to help low-income families access digital devices and data.
– Training and supporting staff and volunteers from community organisations to deliver digital support in their own groups and meetings.
– Providing basic digital skills advice by telephone to any Somerset resident who needs it.
Their Helpdesk is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm. Call 01458 550 977.
PLEASE NOTE: Spark iT’s services, including their Digital Cafes, will be unavailable from Monday 11 December 2023 to Friday 5 January 2024. For more information about this winter closure, please click here.
AbilityNet exists to change the lives of older and disabled people by helping them to use digital technology.
We have a free helpline for technology advice and information. We also have a local team of carefully selected and vetted AbilityNet Technology volunteers who support clients remotely and in their own homes with their technology, whether it’s a laptop, computer, tablet or smartphone.
Apps are a great way to get health and mental wellbeing information, helping us to improve our health and live healthier lives. There are so many apps on the market, it can be hard to know which ones you can trust.
That’s why the NHS in Somerset have teamed up with ORCHA (the Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Applications) to create this one website which shows reviewed health and care related apps, helping you to choose the one that works best.
